How to enable DEBUG logging on Jetty running on Enterprise Manager

CA Technologies Support may ask the case owner to collect Jetty DEBUG log for Enterprise Manager.

This can be done through the following steps:




Please turn on jetty DEBUG log by changing/adding the following lines in EM properties file - :




log4j.appender.mortbaylogfile.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{M/dd/yy hh:mm:ss.SSS a z} [%-3p] [%t] [%c] %m%n


log4j.appender.mortbaylogfile.MaxFileSize=200MB, mortbaylogfile



This will create a new EMmortbay.log in logs directory.
