Introduction:
I have created a Dashboard in the UMP with some routers and their connections. If I hover the mouse over the connection points of the diagram it will display the metric that I assigned to it, however I would like to have this information displayed all the time without having to hover over. How can this be achieved?
Environment:
UIM 8.51
Instructions:
In order to display the metric values all the time in a Dashboard you will need to create a text widget for each of the metrics and use them as a label. The following steps should work:

- on the Dashboard Designer add a new 'Text' widget next to the item you would like to see the metrics for;
- assign the same metric of the item next to it to the 'Text' widget;
- with the 'Text' widget selected click the settings button (wrench key) and edit the 'Default Value'. You can use any text to name the metric and use the variable $VAR to display the value (i.e BytesOut: $VAR)
- use the 'Live View' to see whether the text box is showing the desired value.

Please note that the variable name is case sensitive, it needs to be in capital letters as in the example above.
