How to delete a user in the Control Panel of UMP

Introduction:

Please note that it is not recommended to perform regular administration in the Control Panel as it can cause other sections of UMP to stop working.

 

There are times when a user need to be removed from the Control Panel (Liferay User) if the user needs to be removed or to fix issues with the user.  In order to determine if this is a course of action you need to take, please consult the following documents and search for Liferay users.  These go into more depth for what users are configured in UIM.

Instructions:

There are several steps that need to be performed to delete a user from the Control Panel.  First, the user needs to be deactivated and then deleted.  Please follow the below steps for performing this:

 

  • Open the Control Panel at the top right section of UMP under the Go to drop down.

  • Click on Users and Organizations under the Portal settings section of the Control Panel.  This will bring up a list of users to choose from.

  • Once the user is found, you will need to check the box next to the name and then click Deactivate.

  • You will then need to go into the Advanced Search section to delete this user.  First, click on Search All Users in the Users and Organizations section.

  • Click on Advanced >>

  • Click on the Show button and select Inactive.  Add the user into the User text box you are searching for.  Then click on the Search button.

  • The user will now show up, and will be accessible to delete.
