Question :

How to go about creating Informatica jobs?

Answer:

There are no specific job types so far, CMD job type should be used. A future release will provide a specific job type. In the meantime Informatica implementation is done via a wrapper command informatica.bat (in the "wrapper" directory of the agent) and it accepts Informatica commands.

You could use JIL command:pmcmd however if Informatica does provide a CLI and a web services interface it does not provides access to the software full feature set; it is therefore better to using the wrapper.

You can code the --command parameter of the wrapper to execute any Infomatica command.

For instance,  to start workflow with Informatica, you would code:

pmcmd startworkflow -sv theService -d theDomain -u Administrator -p admpsw -f foldername wf_name

Thus if you need to define an autosys job that may automaticaly start the workflow at 8am every workday the JIL would look like:

insert_job: test_job   job_type: CMD
command: "/opt/CA/WorkloadAutomationAE/SystemAgent/wrappers/informatica" --command=startworkflow -sv theService -d theDomain -u Administrator -p admpsw -f foldername wf_name"
machine: theMachine
owner: autosys@TheNode
permission:

date_conditions: 1
days_of_week: mo,tu,we,th,fr
start_times: "08:00"
alarm_if_fail: 1
