How to copy/move a netapp_ontap template from one robot to another.

Introduction:

Currently, there is no way to use the Admin Console or Infrastructure Manager to transfer a netapp_ontap template from one robot to another. This article provides steps that should allow you to use the same netapp_ontap template on multiple robots.

 

 

Environment:
UIM 8.4+ 2 robots with the netapp_ontap probe.

****Reminder: always make a backup before making any changes!!!****

Create a Template

Copy the Template Files

****Note: Following these steps will overwrite any templates that are already configured on the target machine****

  1. Log in to the server where the template was created. 
  2. Navigate to the netapp_ontap folder in the Nimsoft directory (<nimsoft directory>/probes/storage/netapp_ontap/)
  3. Copy the bulk_config and templateDefinitions folders.
  4. Transfer the copied folders to the target machine.
  5. Paste the folders into the the netapp_ontap folder in the Nimsoft directory (<nimsoft directory>/probes/storage/netapp_ontap/) on the target machine.
  6. Deactivate the netapp_ontap probe on the target robot.
  7. Wait for the port and PID to disappear.
  8. Activate the netapp_ontap probe on the target robot.
  9. Your template should now show up on the target robot.
