How to configure SOI services for 64-bit JAVA

Description:

Procedure to move the SOI Manager and Connectors to 64-bit JAVA for better performance.

Solution:

  1. Open a command prompt on the SOI Manager or Connector, navigate to SOI_HOME\jsw\bin and enter the following commands:
    sam_services stop
    sam_services remove

  2. Navigate to SOI_HOME\jsw\conf and enter the following commands:
    rename SAM-Tomcat.conf SAM-Tomcat.conf-bkcp (This file is only available on the SOI Manager)
    rename SAM-IntegrationServices.conf SAM-IntegrationServices.conf-bkup

  3. Enter the following commands from the same location:
    copy SAM-Tomcat.conf64 SAM-Tomcat.conf
    copy SAM-IntegrationServices.conf64 SAM-IntegrationServices.conf

  4. Navigate to SOI_HOME\jsw\bin and enter the following commands:
    sam_services install
    sam_services start

Note: Please make sure the server has sufficient Physical Memory, as 64-bit Java uses 4GB of Memory, hence the Physical server need to have at least 6GB of Physical Memory to start

using the 64-bit Java.
