Summary:

Beginning with Service Desk Manager 12.9 you now have the ability to specify the path of a UNC share for the attachment path.

Solution:

If you would like to specify a UNC share path for the "Upload Path" and "Archive Path" of the repository you can log into Service Desk Manager with an Administrator account. Access the Administration tab and expand "Attachment Library" and then select "Repositories".

When the list of Repositories returns, right click the one you want to adjust and select "Edit".

The UNC path can now be entered for the "Upload Path" or "Archive Path" in a format similar to:

\\SERVERNAME\SHARENAME

If the share has restricted rights, and requires authentication in order to access the share you can click the "UNC Credentials" option on the Repository settings, you can then click "Create New" on the "Credentials Search" screen, and then create an entry with the userid and password that provides rights to the UNC share. Once this new entry is created it can be specified on the Repository settings screen.
