Introduction:

Summary:

When installing PM components, memory usage is set by a combination of questions and automatic evaluation of the system resources.

If you increase memory on the host, you need to manually edit some files for PM to make use of these new resources.

Background:

Formula for memory allocation:

1/6th of Overall System Memory for the PC service

1/6th of Overall System Memory for the DM service

1/4th of Overall System Memory for the EM service

512MB for the SSO service

The remainder of the memory will be for the OS and MySQL

Environment:

CA Performance Center CAPC 2.x

Instructions:

Edit the wrapper.conf file for each of the CAPC services:

(these are default paths, your environment may vary)

/opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/PC/conf/wrapper.conf

/opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/DM/conf/wrapper.conf

/opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/EM/conf/wrapper.conf

/opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/sso/conf/wrapper.conf

Find and edit this line in each file:

# Maximum Java Heap Size (in MB)

wrapper.java.maxmemory=2657

You can restart all services, but a reboot would be the most thorough.
