Question:

How to Configure for Mixed Case Passwords in CA Roscoe?

Answer:

  1. Your operating system and security package must both have mixed case password support.
  2. Set Roscoe startup parm PWDCASE=MIXED
    NOTE: The default is UPPER
  3. Check the Roscoe log for the
    ROS003I STARTUP PARM PWDCASE= FORCED to UPPER    OR
    If PWDCASE=MIXED was specified, and the system does not have the proper support for mixed case passwords, this message will be issued during Roscoe initialization. The PWDCASE is then forced to UPPER.

  4. Type STATUS SYSTEM on the Roscoe Command line and to see what Roscoe is set to.  Look in the upper right for:
    PWDCASE          ===> UPPER|UPPER(F)|MIXED

    UPPER - Indicates that SYSIN parameter PWDCASE=UPPER was specified or set by default.

    UPPER(F) - Indicates that PWDCASE=MIXED was specified in the SYSIN parameter, but the system is not able to support mixed case passwords. PWDCASE has been forced to UPPER.

    MIXED - Indicates that SYSIN parameter PWDCASE=MIXED was specified.
