Question:

How to code multiple lines REXX statement in CA Workload Automation ESP Edition?

Environment

CA WA ESP EDITION 11.4 Z/OS

Answer:

Refer to “Advanced User’s Guide, chapter 11, section “Continuing Commands”:

When you use REXX within CA WA ESP Edition, the syntax is checked one line at a time.

To generate a CA WA ESP Edition command longer than one line within REXX:

1. Build the command one line at a time.

2. Concatenate each line with the previous line.

3. Use the concatenated string as the command.

Example: Code a Multiple Line Command

The following example shows a CA WA ESP Edition command longer than one line within REXX. The command is built using a variable named SS.

REXXON

SS = "IF JOBONQ('ABC') OR "

SS = SS "JOBONQ('DEF') OR "

SS = SS "JOBONQ('XYZ') THEN REEXEC IN(1)"

SS

REXXOFF
