Introduction:

When using the CA Spool Web Interface httpd-log and httpd-errors files are created on the /logs USS HFS directory (usually /usr/lpp/caspool/logs). IBM's HTTP web server parameters can be used to manage the log files.

Question:

How to cleanup the /logs directory when using the Web Interface?

Answer:

To automate the cleanup of the /logs directory the following parameters can be set on the httpd.conf file:

AccessLogArchive   purge
AccessLogExpire    2
AccessLogSizeLimit 1
ErrorLogArchive    purge
ErrorLogExpire     2
ErrorLogSizeLimit  1

AccessLogExpire and ErrorLogExpire allow you to set the age in days for the access/error logs.
AccessLogSizeLimit and ErrorLogSizeLimit allow you to set the sum total size limit, in megabytes, for the access/error logs.

Customize these values to your site-specific standards.
