Introduction:
Need to change the company domain name of the CA Performance Management servers - e.g.:
'company' to 'newcompany' in the current domain name. For example:
from ca-mad.company.com
to ca-mad.newcompany.com

Question:
How to change the company domain of the CA Performance Management servers - e.g.:
changing 'company' in the current domain name; from 'ca-mad.company.com' to 'ca-mad.newcompany.com'
Besides changing it in the etc/hosts files of the servers, is it necessary to change anything in the configuration files or any other place?
Environment:
CA Performance Management
Answer:

If using the fully qualified hostname (FQHN) in the CA Performance Manager config files, these need to be updated with the new domain name.
If the hostname remains the same, no changes are needed in the config files.

The /etc/hosts and DNS are definitely places where to update the domain name. And the actual hostname of the box needs update if set to the FQHN.

Anywhere the FQHN is used in the product, either change to just the hostname, or fix the FQHN provided.
If using IP or just the hostname in any of the CA Performance Management config files or Data Source edit dialog, then there is nothing to so, except make sure the Operating System can successfully resolve the right IP for the hostname.

Additional Information:
If changing the domain name only, not the hostname or IP address of the servers, the following is true:
Data Aggregator -> No changes to dbconnection.cfg
Data Collector -> No changes to com.ca.im.dm.core.collector.cfg
For same reason no changes in the DC's activemq.xml file, as there is not the domain name in there.

For CA Performance Center it won’t be necessary to change the data source settings, because the hostname or the IP address entered there are not changing.
