Introduction:

This article shows you how you can change colors in the GUI for Dynamic Capacity Intelligence (DCI) to you personal preferences.

Instructions:

Every system (LPAR) is shown in a different color in the GUI.DCI gives every LPAR a randomized color. To get a more friendly picture to you it is possible to change the color. Every changes you do, do in the custom folder of the USS filesystem to DCI only. Please make sure that you are using the correct path for your changes. So please change the route.xml for this:

Now you are prepared for doing changes in the config.xml that is stored in the custom folder.

This is an example to change the color of C111.LPA3.SYS3 (The name you can see in the legend - right corner at the bottom

C111 is the CPC-Name

LPA3 is the LPAR name

SYS3 is the SYSID

To change the color you have to generate this little config.xml in the custom folder

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<CONFIG>
    <TRANSLATION>
        <SERIES>
            <SERIE>
                <ID>C111.LPA3.SYA3</ID>
                <COLOR>#FF997C</COLOR>
            </SERIE>
        <SERIES>
    </TRANSLATION>
</CONFIG>

Define the ID for the color change. In this case:

<ID>C111.LPA3.SYA3</ID>

Then the color you want to use:

<COLOR/>#FF897C</COLOR>

To choose a color please google HTML color code and you will find a lot of webpages with the HTML code

Then the GUI looks like (changed from blue to orange):
