How to calculate the IOPS for an IM large deployment

- According to the IM documentation the requeriment for disk input/output is 200 Megabytes/second.

- Vertica recommends a disk block size of 4096 bytes (4K)

- In order to calculate the IOPS based on MB/sec or vice versa the following formulas could be used:

 

IOPS = (MBps Throughput/KB per IO) * 1024

 

Or

 

MBps = (IOPS * KB per IO) / 1024

 

Running the calculations:

 

IOPS = (200 / 4) * 1024 = 51200
