Question:

How to backup EIAM Settings, Contacts and groups?

Answer:

Login to EIAM - ServiceDesk application instance with EiamAdmin user -> Click on the Configure Tab -> Click Embedded EIAM Server -> Click on the Export Application -> On the right hand frame you get few checkbox's that gives you an option to select what all you want to export.

Click on Export button -> It will bring up a prompt window -> Save the .xml file under \CA\Shared Components\iTechnology folder.

This will act as your backup file. You will have to manually note down the Active Directory Integration values as this will not be included in the backup file.

In order to Import the data follow the below steps:

On the server where you want to import the EIAM values, bring up the command prompt and go to CA\Shared Components\iTechnology folder and run the command:
safex -h <hostname of the server> -u Eiamadmin -p <Password of Eiamadmin user> -f <backup filename>

This command will import the backup file.
