Introduction:

CA Aion Rule Manager depends on the Embedded Entitlements Manager for user authentication. It must be uninstalled separately from CA Aion Rule Manager.

If the .conf files of iTechnology are still listed in C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\iTechnology, then uninstalling EEM will result in the following error.

"Information:
The CA EEM Server cannot be uninstalled because some application instances are still registered. Please unregister the application instances and try again."

This document will tell how to avoid this error on uninstalling CA EEM.

Instructions:

When uninstalling EEM, it is important to remove all the configuration files that EEM contains, so that registration errors do not occur. A log file that will provide a message showing an error will be located in "eiaminstall.log", found in the C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\Embedded IAM directory.

Look in C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\iTechnology for the iGateway configuration files.

   C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\iTechnology>dir *.conf

These files should be removed, before uninstalling EEM.

Once they are removed, you can proceed to uninstall EEM. Ignore any error that iPoz.conf is missing.
