How to affect a default group to computers after install

Introduction:

With MSI parameter AGENT_DEFAULTGROUPS it is possible to affect some default groups to a computer during installation of Agent.

 

 

AGENT_DEFAULTGROUPS


A group or a list of management groups that are created at the Manager where the Agent automatically registers.
Value: A comma-separated list of group names
Example: Grp1/subgroup1,Group2,...

But is it possible to do this after install ? Or to update/delete the list of default groups ?

 

Instructions:

The list of default groups is stored in comstore of the agent under itrm/agent/defaultgroups

It is possible to create or update the list of default groups by executing this command on the Agent machine.

 

ccnfcmda -cmd SetParameterValue -ps  itrm/agent -pn defaultgroups -v <list_of_groups>

 

 

Example :

To put the machine in groups GROUP1 and GROUP2/SUB_GROUP2, execute :

 

ccnfcmda -cmd SetParameterValue -ps  itrm/agent -pn defaultgroups -v GROUP1,GROUP2/SUB_GROUP2

In order to remove the list of group following command could be used :

ccnfcmda -cmd DeleteParameter -ps itrm/agent -pn defaultgroups
