Introduction:
how the spadmin user is created in Service Catalog
Question:
How the spadmin user is created in Service Catalog?
Environment:
Service Catalog 17.x
Answer:
The 'spadmin' user is a hardcoded user created during the installation process.
This is the Service Catalog admin user.
When you use LDAP for authenticaton, this user must be created in the Active Directory (AD) so that the Service Catalog UI can be accessed with this account.
Additional Information:
CA Service Management - 17.1 >> Administering >> Configuring CA Service Catalog >> Manage Users and Assign Roles >> Step 2 - Assign Roles
  • The Catalog system creates only one user at installation time. This user, named spadmin, has the Service Delivery Administrator role.
  • By default, at installation time, the Catalog system creates a user ID named spadmin with this role.
