Introduction:

In earlier eHealth versions (6.2.x, 6.3.0.xx, 6.3.1.xx and some 6.3.2.xx), the number of characters for user's password was limited to eight.

In eHealth 6.3.2.11 this limitation is no more valid and we support a maximum of 32 characters for the passwords.

Question:

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be used for user’s passwords?

Do the password length still have the limitation to 8 characters that we had with previous eHealth releases, as outlined in Knowledge Base article TEC519289 ?

Answer:

The limitation to maximum 8 digits for the password lenght is valid only for some old eHealth versions - 6.2.x, 6.3.0.xx, 6.3.1.xx, and few 6.3.2.xx maint kits.

Starting from eHealth 6.3.2.11 we support a maximum of 32 characters for the eHealth users' password.

When creating a new User or changing the password for an existing User in OneClick for eHealth console, you will see the note saying:
"A maximum of 32 characters is allowed"
and the password field will show all the 32 digits (masked) that are entered.

You can set the password of your choice and then use it for the users’ log in to OneClick and the web UI.

Additional Information:

The limitation of 8 characters was an Apache limitation with the basic authentication mechanism that eHealth uses. Refer to Knowledge Base article TEC519289 for details:
