Question:
How is the value for Capacity determined for Roadmap Items calculated? If it is imported from an existing project in CA Project & Portfolio Management (PPM), how is this value determined?
Answer:
  1. For Roadmap Items imported from PPM Projects:
  • The Capacity field for a roadmap item imported from a PPM Project is calculated based on the number of hours the resource is allocated to the project during the time period of the roadmap. This value cannot be changed for a roadmap item imported from a CA PPM project.
Example: If the Roadmap Start Period is Jan 1, 2019-Dec 31, 2019 (1 year duration), and the resource is allocated to the project at 100% for August 1, 2019 through August 31, 2019, then when the project is imported into the Roadmap, the Capacity will be imported as 176.
  • Note: Any allocation for a team member that is outside the duration of the Roadmap is not included in the Capacity for the Roadmap Item.
       2. If the roadmap item is created manually in a roadmap, then this value is entered manually within the roadmap.
