How does the SMTP server failover affect the process of sending emails?
If the primary SMTP server fails, then the secondary SMTP server is up and running to send the emails. There is no timeout to check the connection failure. Which means as soon as the SMTP primary server fails, the secondary SMTP server is used. During the failover:
• If the alarms are assigned to the profile created with the secondary SMTP user then these alarms will be sent as mails to that secondary user.
• If the alarms are assigned to the profile created with primary SMTP user then probe will generate an alarm for mail failure.
