Question:
How does NFA manager router replacements?
Environment:
NFA 9.3.3 and above
Windows 2008/2012
Answer:
When a router is replaced with a different model at the same IP address, CA Network Flow Analysis begins collecting data from the new router. The data that was collected from the "old" router is kept, and marked with an "OLD" prefix.
A successful poll of the router needs to be done before the hardware replacement. CA NFA usually does a router poll when it detects a router reboot. You can force a router poll from the Administration page using Administration, System, Enable Interfaces, then selecting the router and clicking Refresh. A successful poll of the router updates the SysObjectId column in the routers_snmp table in the Poller database.
