Introduction:

File Master Plus for IMS, and the use of Sync Points for checkpoint restarting.

Question:

CA File Master Plus for IMS does issue an IMS SYNC call if one of the SYNCx keywords has been specified. Is this correct?

Environment:
File Master Plus for IMS, and the use of Sync Points.
Answer:

File Master Plus for IMS uses the SYNC call to commit changes, that’s why the keywords are called SYNCD (after n DLET calls), SYNCI (after n ISRT calls) and SYNCU (after n REPL calls). Just like CHKP, SYNC commits changes.

Additional Information:

Note that the default value for the 3 SYNCx keywords is 100. The SYNCx keywords are only valid in BMP mode.
