Question:

How does a user change their password in CA Software Asset Manager?

Environment:
CA Software Asset Manager, any release
Answer:

If CA Software Asset Manager is integrated with active directory/LDAP, then users do not need to manage their passwords in the application.

 

If CA Software Asset Manager is NOT integrated with active directory/LDAP, then user password are managed as follows:

  1. From the CA SAM home page, click on the My Account button in the upper right hand corner
  2. Under Account, click Change Password
  3. The change password dialog boxes will appear where the password can be changed.

 

Additional Information:

Passwords typically include characters 0-9, a-z or A-Z only.  

 

Consult with your SAM administrator on the password policy for your installation, as there may be further password restrictions in place.
