Depending on the amount of data being processed and the memory on users machines accessing the CA Process Automation client you might need to increase or decrease the Java memory heap being used. If you are seeing slow performance in your CA Process Automation client you can change these configurations. This setting was hard-coded in IT PAM 2.1, 2.2, 3.0. In 3.1 you are now able to configure the memory heap through the CA Process Automation Web Management console.

The defaults are 128 MB and 1024 MB. Changing the below will change the Java Heap Size for that user.

1536 MB is the maximum Java Heap Size limit for 32-bit JAVA.

There is not a maximum Java Heap Size for 64-bit JAVA. It is however not recommended to go beyond 2048 MB (2 GB) as there are several factors that must be considered.
