  1. For a typical DSM install the following commands will place Agent Technology in debug:
      awservices stop awservices start -m -d 4 aws_orb start -d 4 aws_sadmin start -d 4 aws_store start -d 4 aws_snmp start -d 4 aws_dsm start -d 4 aws_wvgate start -d 4
The log files can be located in the following location:
    %AGENTWORKS_DIR%\SERVICES\VAR\LOG
(* for unix flavours use $AGENTWORKS)

  2. For a typical Agent ONLY install the following commands will place Agent Technology in debug: awservices stop
    awservices start -m -d 4aws_orb start -d 4aws_sadmin start -d 4aws_snmp start -d 4
The agents can be put in debug mode using the -l 4 option
    Ex: hpaagent start -l 4 prfagent start -l 4 caiW2kOs start -l 4 caiLogA2 start -l 4 caiUxOs start -l 4
The log files can be located in the following location:
    %AGENTWORKS_DIR%\NSM\AGENTS\LOGS
(* for unix flavours use $AGENTWORKS)

To return to the normal mode (from debug mode after collecting log files) just stop awservices and start them again.
    awservices stopawservices start
The environment variable AW_MAX_LOGSIZE_K can be set to restrict the maximum log size. If setting AW_MAX_LOGSIZE_K=50000 the log size does not go over 50MB. This environment variable needs to be set before starting the awservices service.
