Introduction:

It is possible to have several different versions of $OPTIONS for use with ASM2.

Question:

How do I use a different $OPTIONS member for a specific ASM2 job that may have different settings?

Answer:
  1. Using the SAMPJCL(L142IH) job, simply rename the $OPTIONS to whatever $OPTIONx member you want to create.

  2. Assemble the new $OPTIONx into your ASM2 CAILIB.

  3. Refresh the LNKLST.

  4. In the job to be using the new or special $OPTIONx add the following DD name to the affected steps:

    //$OPTIONx DD DUMMY

This will force ASM2 to use the new $OPTIONx version for this step.

NOTE: "x" designates any alpha numeric character, for example, $OPTIONZ
