Introduction:

In order to diagnose certain CA TPX internal problems a diagnostic console dump is required.

Question:

What are the recommended parameters required to generate a TPX dump ?

Answer:

The operator console dump command syntax when TPX is NOT configured as a Generic resource :

DUMP COMM=(TPX DUMP)
R nn,JOBNAME=tpx,
SDATA=(RGN,CSA,LPA,LSQA,PSA,SQA,SUM,SWA,TRT),END

where nn is the REPLY NUMBER.

The operator console dump command syntax when TPX is configured as a Generic resource :
(this information is also available via APAR LI55259):

DUMP COMM=(TPX DUMP)
R nn,JOBNAME=tpx,
SDATA=(RGN,CSA,LPA,LSQA,PSA,SQA,SUM,SWA,TRT,COUPLE,XESDATA),END

, STRLIST=(STRNAME=coupling facility name,
       ACCESSTIME=NOLIMIT,
       LOCKENTRIES,
       (LISTNUM=ALL,
       ADJUNCT=CAPTURE,
       ENTRYDATA=SERIALIZE)

Used to include in the dump a list of coupling facility structures.
Cache and list structures can be dumped; lock structures cannot be dumped.

The console dump will be routed to the system dump data sets.
