Question:

How do I schedule a PCS event that will run a batch job when the threshold is triggered?

Answer:

Step 1.

Edit the threshold you have defined in Explore for CICS that you would like to have scheduled a PCS event. Put a 'Y' in the post column and the event name in the EVENT column.

NAME.. RESOURCE RESOURCE ...LIMIT PCT LOG POST EVENT...
ABENDS CPUTIME * 0.500 75 YES NO EVTNAME

Step 2.

Define an Event that has a when condition of EXPC.

From the PCS main menu select 'E'. Press PF4 to create a new event. Fill in the fields with the necessary information

Event Name ===> EVTNAME Group Name ===>EXPCCICS
Description ===> Threshold Event Hold ===>N
Event Cpuid ===> ABND RC ===>

Tape Reels  ===>           Cartridges ===>

Tab down to When Cond, put a 'Y' and hit enter. On this screen fill in

            Type    Primary

Press PF3, then PF4 to save the event. If you wish to move the event to the current file, press PF2.
