Introduction:
Customizing SNMP adapter.
Question:
How do I report Introscope performance data to other applications or monitoring products?
Environment:
 Introscope from 9.x to 10x
Answer:
You can report Introscope performance data to external components using one of two methods:

    1. Configure the Introscope SNMP Agent to publish any metrics collected by Introscope through a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Management Information Base (MIB). The Introscope SNMP Agent maintains a buffer that can be read by any SNMP manager version 2.0 or higher. This buffer can be dynamically changed and is continually updated.

Refer to the SNMP Adapter User Guide for details.

    2. Using an Introscope Alert and Action, you can launch a shell script that takes data from Introscope and passes it to an external application or system monitor through a command interface or utility provided with that application or monitor. For example, a script can format Alert information and send it to the Tivoli TEC through the TEC's POSTEMSG command interface.

See the Introscope Administration Guide or Introscope Workstation Guide for more information about Alerts and Actions.
