Introduction:

There are 3 different ways an Adabas DDCARD statement can be specified in Adabas and Natural jobs:

  1. Directly inline in the job stream

  2. By referencing a PDS member

  3. Pointing to a sequential dataset

The EINE Endevor Site Symbolics can be coded to satisfy any of these coding options.

Environment:

All supported versions of CA Endevor SCM Integration for the Natural Environment (EINE)

Instructions:

  1. To specify an inline DDCARD statement like this:
       //DDCARD DD *
       ADARUN MODE=MULTI,SVC=228,DEVICE=3390,DBID=090

    Code the Site Symbolics as follows with both #DDCARDD and #DDCARDM set to null value:
       $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARD#D,SYMDATA='ADARUN MODE=MULTI,SVC=228,      X
            DEVICE=3390,DBID=090'
       $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDD#D,SYMDATA=' '
       $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDM#D,SYMDATA=' '

  2. To specify using a member in a PDS library like this:
       //DDCARD DD DISP=SHR,DSN=ADABAS.JCL(DDCARD90)

    Code the Site Symbolics as follows with #DDCARD set to null value:
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARD#C,SYMDATA=' '
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDD#C,SYMDATA='ADABAS.JCL'
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDM#C,SYMDATA='DDCARD90'

  3. To specify using a sequential dataset as input like this:
        //DDCARD DD DISP=SHR,DSN=DBID090.DDCARD

    Code the Site Symbolics as follows with both #DDCARD and #DDCARDM set to null value:
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARD#2,SYMDATA=' '
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDD#2,SYMDATA='DBID090.DDCARD'
        $ESYMBOL SYMNAME=#DDCARDM#2,SYMDATA=' '
