Question:
UIM deploys different version of Microsoft Visual C++.
We see version from 2005 - 2010sp1
How can we tell what version of UIM are required so we can remove older versions?

Environment:
UIM 9.0 and earlier
Answer:
This will depend on the probe installed on a robot.
The latest version of C++ probes and robots should all be using Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 and newer

to check this go to the archive on the primary hub and edit the probe in question such as CDM and check the dependency tab to see what version of the Microsoft Visual C++ is required.

this check will need to be done for each probe version on a robot or in the environment to validate.

there is no automated way to check this dependency.

to tell if a probe is C++ or Java-based you can check the command column in IM or AC2.
If it has something such as <Java Home> then it is a java probe anything else should be a C++ probe.
