The Alarm Age out functionality is available off of the VNM model.  Select the VNM model from within the explorer view and make sure the Topology tab is selected.  Go to the Information window, and click on the Alarm Management selection.  There are the following fields:

Age Out Residual Alarms Only

Alarm Age-Out Time (hours)

Age Out Alarms With listed Cause IDs Only

The usage of these features is in the Modeling Your It Infrastructure Administrator Guide (doc 5167.pdf)

Age Out Residual Alarms Only

Lets you specify whether only residual old alarms will be cleared. Residual alarms are alarms that existed prior to a SpectroSERVER restart and have not been re-verified. If enabled, SPECTRUM clears only residual alarms based on the Alarm Age Out timer setting.

Default: Yes

Alarm Age-Out Time (hours)

This attribute defines how long an alarm can exist in SPECTRUM. Once an alarm has existed for the number of hours specified by this attribute, it is a candidate for automatic removal. To disable this functionality, set this attribute to zero (0).

Every hour, SPECTRUM checks the status of all alarms in the landscape and uses this option to determine if alarms should be cleared. Therefore, an alarm will not be removed at exactly the moment when its existence time has exceeded the time-out. It can be, at most, an hour "overdue."

If you have a need to specify a time that is not in an hour increment (ie. you need to clear an alarm after 1.5 hours) then please review and implement TS27230.
