Question:

Can individual CAF plugins can be stopped/started/disabled/enabled without stopping the CAF service ?

Environment:

CA Client Automation - All Versions

Answer:

  1. To stop an individual plugin use the command:

              caf stop rchost

  2. To stop a plugin on a remote machine use the following command:

caf stop rchost host <machine name> user <username>

Note: This will prompt you for a password that will be masked from view.

  3. For a full command line that will generate no prompts but will require a visible password be typed:

caf stop rchost host <machine name> user <username> password <password>

Note:     The above example demonstrates stopping the rchost plugin.

Similarly, the plugin can be started, enabled, disabled using 'caf start rchost', 'caf enable rchost', 'caf disable rchost' commands respectively.

If a plug does not stop with caf stop <plugin>   you can try    caf kill <plugin>
