How can I refactor Eclipse Project Folder name change and synchronize it to CA SCM repository?

Problem:

In CA Harvest SCM Eclipse plug-in I have added a project from the repository to the Workspace and now I want to rename this top level Eclipse project folder. I right-mouse click on the top level project folder in Java perspective or CA SCM Navigator view and rename the folder, right-mouse click the renamed folder and choose Team --> Synchronize. However, in the Synchronizer view, the option for "Compare Refactoring changes" is greyed out for the project folder name. It seems to ignore the project folder name change. Currently, the CA Harvest SCM plug-in does not include refactoring on Eclipse project folders because the user can freely choose any name as project name (while adding the project to workspace) and not necessarily select the same name as the CA SCM item path.

Resolution:

  1. Open the CA SCM perspective and go into the Explorer View.

  2. Right-mouse click in the repository view on the folder you want to rename and choose Rename path process.

  3. Rename the folder.

  4. Invoke "Add to Workspace".

  5. Perform synchronizing the Eclipse project folder and change will be reflected.
