Introduction / Summary:

Due to the potential maintenance overhead of managing multiple agent configurations it can be useful to control which agents integrate with CEM and receive CEM Business Transaction data without having to modify each separate agent profile/configuration.

Since APM Release the CEM Administration/Business Services tab has an "Agent Filters" option which can be used to control which agents receive the CEM Business Transaction data. There are 2 options:

Agent Name Regular Expression: You can use standard RegEx to provided a filtered list of agent names which allows for total flexibility e.g. if the number of agents is large and only a few agents need to be excluded then perhaps a REegEx using "^" syntax will be easiet to setup.

Introscope Domain: You can select one or more domains for associated agents that you want to receive the CEM data.

Additional Information:

With DEBUG logging enabled for the Agent profile log4j property log4j.logger.IntroscopeAgent the agent log will show when any new filters have impacted that agent with message strings "transactionComponentAdd" or "transactionComponentRemove"
