Question:

How can I determine if a PTF is needed or available for a newer release of the product? I have been given a PTF for CA Datacom Version 14.0 and have since upgraded to Version 15.0.

Environment:
z/OS
Answer:

Follow these steps to determine if a new version of the product has a PTF available or related....

Login to CA Support.

Enter the PTF number in the "Find It" search area. This will present the Search Results with the link to the PTF.

Click on the link to the solution to view the solutions details.

Scroll down to the "PRODUCT (S) AFFECTED:".

If the later release is not noted, then the fix was sourced with the later release or the problem is not related.

If the later release is noted then...

Scroll down the the "Related Problems"section.

Click on resulting link in the "Problem Title" to view the Problem associated with the PTF.

Notice the "PRODUCTS (S) AFFECTED:" display of the releases.

Scroll down to the "Related Solutions" section.

Click on the "Solution Title" links of the "Solution #" with "Status" "Confirmed" to select any additional version PTF for download.

Additional Information:

If  "PRODUCTS (S) AFFECTED:" lists the new version but no solution is available, contact CA Support to check the status.
