Question:

How can I change the SYSPLEX name when getting the DB00912E  error message?

Answer:

To change the SYSPLEX name you can either migrate the CXX to the System where you will be using it

and run a DBUTLTY with the following input on that system:

CXXMAINT OPTION=ALTER,OPTION2=MATCHSID

Or,

you can change the SYSPLEX name prior to migrating the CXX to the other system by running a DBUTLTY with the following input on the originating system.

CXXMAINT OPTION=ALTER,OPTION2=MATCHSID,OUTNAME=sysplex-name

The value used for 'sysplex-name' must obviously match the SYSPLEX name where the CXX will be used.

Additional information:

From CA Datacom/DB Message Reference Guide 14.0:

DB00912E: CXX SYSPLEX x DOES NOT MATCH CURRENT SYSPLEX y

Reason:

The SIMPLIFY feature provides protection of the CXX using MVS Global Resource Serialization and also requiring that all MUF and DBUTLTY CXX access be restricted to a System in one Sysplex, by name.

Action:

If executing the Job on the wrong System, submit it again on a System in the expected Sysplex. If the Sysplex name is to be changed and if there are no current ‘any’ Datacom executions active, then this name can be changed using DBUTLTY function CXXMAINT with OPTION=ALTER and OPTION2=SYSPLEX. This execution can only be done when the MUF is not enabled and no DBUTLTY function is executing with the CXX. It sets the name to the current Sysplex.
