Question:

Are there any steps that need to be performed after hostname or IP Address change in NFA.

Environment:

Windows 2008 and 2012.

NFA 9.x

Answer:

A host name change should not impact NFA for the most part, as NFA uses the IP address to specify the Harvester and DSA connections.

The only place where you may have to updated the host name after the change is in CAPC/NPC, if you added NFA as a data source using the hostname instead of IP address.

If so, just go to Admin->Data Sources and Edit the Data Source, and update the name.  Do Not Delete the data source.

If you are changing IP addresses of the NFA servers, then you would have to go to Admin->Harvesters and Admin->DSA and Edit the IP addresses of each Harvester and DSA.

Again Do Not Delete the Harvester or DSA, this will result in a loss of all data associated with them.
