Introduction:

Harvester Load Redistribution. What would be the process for this?

Question:

How to redirect routers from one Harvester to another.

Environment:

RA/NFA 9.x

Answer:

By default, if you redirect the routers to the new Harvester, the system will automatically update the database and continue storing the 15-min historical data on the DSA. However, the 1-min resolution data from the Harvester would not be included. That would start over on the new Harvester.

The only thing that would prevent the switch-over from happening automatically would be if the interface index numbers changed. This should not occur as long as the routers have the "snmp-server ifindex persist" command in their config files. If it did occur, you would need to merge them one-by-one in the RA/NFA Administration > Physical&Virtual page select the Merge function on the old and new interfaces to combine the data.
