Issue:

When running WAAE commands (e.g. autorep) on a WAAE Client machine, receiving the following errors:

CAUAJM_E_10004 Error retrieving current user and machine.

CAUAJM_E_50242 Failed to establish communication with the CA WAAE Application Server

The problem only occurs with LDAP users. Local users can successfully run WAAE commands.

Environment:
WAAE 11.3.6 Client software installed on a RHEL 7.1 machine
Cause:

The 32-bit versions of required libraries were not installed on the system.  WAAE is a 32-bit application and, as such, requires 32-bit libraries to be available on the system for it to function correctly.

Resolution:

Install the 32-bit version of required libraries.

In this particular case, the libraries that needed to be installed were from the nss-pam-ldapd.i686 package as the client was using LDAP password authentication. This was verified by reviewing the passwd entry in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file:

passwd:     files ldap
