Introduction:

Take great care in setting the property "introscope.agent.browseragent.snippet.maxSearchingLength" in the browser agent's agent profile to an appropriate value to both allow the snippet to be inserted and not to disrupt the web page from functioning.

Background:

Implications on setting the value of the property "introscope.agent.browseragent.snippet.maxSearchingLength": if it is too small, then the browser agent snippet is not inserted and browser agent metrics cannot be reported.  If it is too large, then it could bring down the web page.  More detailed guidance is likely at a later date.

Environment:
All supported Browser Agent releases.
Instructions:

One of the steps to deploy browser agent is to set introscope.agent.browseragent.snippet.maxSearchingLength to an appropriate value.

The default value of introscope.agent.browseragent.snippet.maxSearchingLength is 32768. Depending on the web page, there may be a need to increase this value for browser agent to be enabled. For some application servers, note that a suggested maximum value is 100,000. So you may try starting with 100,000 and then experiment further with small increments to find the right value for your agent.

If this value is set too high for the environment, it could bring down the web page.  Therefore, it is recommended to test this value in a test environment before deploying in a Production environment.
