Issue

Following error occurs while installing CA Business Intelligence (CABI) 4.1: "Failed to update cache for execution.  Program will exit."

Errors similar to the following are found in the CABI install logs:

Error: Could not move temp dest folder to dest folder.  
Error: Temp dest folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting4\InstallData\tmp\tp.microsoft.msxml-4.0-core-32.58  
Dest folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting4\InstallData\InstallCache\tp.microsoft.msxml-4.0-core-32\14.1.0.896\  
Error: Class name: class Poco::FileAccessDeniedException  
Error: Display text: Access to file denied: \\?\C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting4\InstallData\tmp\tp.microsoft.msxml-4.0-core-32.58

Environment

CA Business Intelligence (CABI) 4.1

Windows 20008 or 2012

Cause

The issue occurs because anti-virus running on the server blocks some of the installation files. The installer is unable to copy the temporary installation files from CABI 4.1 setup folder to the destination install directory.

Resolution

Temporarily disable the anti-virus on the server to complete the CABI 4.1 installation.  Anti-virus can be enabled once the CABI install is completed successfully.
