Error Message :
U02003041 Invalid 'DirOpen()' call, file name '???'. Error code: ('13' - 'Permission denied')
U02000102 Error when calling the function 'Error by check directory '???', error code '13(Permission denied)'.

When configuring File Events, the events fail and displayed in the details is one of the above messages.

These errors are caused by the user the File Event binary (ucxj*s) is owned by being unable to access the file structure the Event is attempting to access.

Investigation

There are a few items that can be checked for troubleshooting:

  1. If possible, have the user that the File Event binary is owned by be the same user that owns the entire folder structure being accessed.
  2. If root has access to the folder structure being accessed, you can change the ownership of the File Event binary via:chown root ucxjlx6s
chmod 4755 ucxjx6s
  1.  In the UC_HOSTCHAR for the Agent, confirm that FE_VERSION=2 set.
