FDM: CRLF Issue

Document ID : KB000072361
Last Modified Date : 28/02/2018
Show Technical Document Details
Issue:
On masking a file with no CRLF character on the last line of the file, FDM returns the masked file with the CRLF character included. The only workaround is to remove the CRLF character manually, which is not possible for very huge files.
Environment:
CA Test Data Manager (TDM)- Fast Data Masker (FDM)
Cause:
This is a known issue in TDM 4.4.
Resolution:
There is a patch available for this issue if you are using TDM 4.4, or you can upgrade to TDM 4.5.

If you need a patch, please open a support case by going to https://www.ca.com/us/services-support/ca-support/contact-support.html. In the support case, reference this knowledge document and patch FastDataMasker-4.7.309.0.zip.

Once provided by support, you will use these instructions to download and apply the patch: https://comm.support.ca.com/kb/how-to-apply-patches-for-tdm-and-ard-components/kb000010931.
To prevent a line feed on the last line of the file, this option must be set: LINEFEEDAFTERTRAILER, Y or N - if N, no carriage return is added after the last line of the file to be masked, default is Y, (use N)
