Fatal error in Test Case Optimizer/Agile Designer after saving a flow

Issue: 

When trying to save a flow in Agile Designer, a runtime exception error pops up and displays the error message 'Agile Designer has encountered a Fatal error: Segment Violation' and then the program crashes. 

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Agile Designer.
  2. Click on 'File' in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Choose either 'Open From File' or 'Open From Repository' from the drop down list.
  4. Choose and open an existing flow.
  5. You can either make changes to the flow or not.
  6. Click on 'File' in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  7. Choose any of the 'Save To' or 'Save As' options.

Expected result: I am able to save the flow.
Actual result: I get the error message 'Agile Designer has encountered a Fatal error: Segment Violation' and the program crashes.

Environment:  

Test Case Optimizer (TCO), also known as Agile Designer, release version 1.9.1.

Cause: 

This is a defect which has been fixed by development. You will not experience this problem in TCO 1.9.2.

Resolution/Workaround:

1. Upgrade to TCO release version 1.9.2 or above.

2. There is a patch available if you are unable to upgrade.

  • Please open a support case and reference this knowledge base article number in order to receive the patch. 
  • The patch will include a folder with many files.
  • This folder will need to be downloaded and extracted over the current files in C:\Program Files\Grid-Tools\AgileDesigner
