You can set up a temporary license to conduct a trial of CA Workload Automation DE. If you want to extend your trial period, you can get an extended temporary license file. You must set up the extended temporary license file to continue using the server.

Note: The duration of the extended trial and the number of agents that you can try depend on your trial agreement with CA.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open your browser and log in to the following website:
The CA Support home page appears.
  2. Click Licensing.
    The CA Licensing page appears.
  3. Click Open an issue for CA Licensing.
The Licensing Issue Request page appears.
  4. Complete the fields and click Submit.

Note: Use 2WAT for the product code. In the Description of Request field, indicate whether you want a temporary license file or an extended temporary license file for your server.

Your Licensing Issue Request is submitted, and a CA Support representative will guide you through the process.

  5. Stop the server.
  6. Copy the ca.olf file obtained through the previous steps to one of the following directories where CA license is usually installed:
    • On Windows:

      C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents\CA_LIC

    • On UNIX:

Important! Do not replace the ca.olf file if it exists as it contains license information for other CA products. Instead, CA Support will provide information about updating the existing ca.olf file. You require a single ca.olf file for each computer that runs CA products.

  7. Start the server.
The server starts, and the temporary or extended temporary license file is set up.
