Question:

Executing multiple versions of CA Xmanager on the same LPAR for the CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS suite of tools.  What is the recommended XMANID value within CA Xmanager to allow multiple releases of CA Xmanager to execute on the same LPAR?

Answer:

It is recommended that the XMANID specified in CA Xmanager be allowed to default to 0000 which will automatically resolve to the release version string.  For example under the r19 release, if XMANID='0000' is specified this will automatically default to the release string of 1900 which can be verified in the following CA Xmanager message:

PXM0100 CA/XMANAGER 19.0 INIT IN PROGRESS ID=1900

The SETUPxx member of hlq.CDBAPARM would also specify the following which will automatically default to the release string: XMANID   (0000)
