When a file event is checking for a file on a machine where the agent is running if the Windows agent where the check is being executed goes down (e.g. Hardware failure, maintenance, etc.) the event goes into a status of "Waiting for host".
This is expected behavior.
When the agent is back up, the event goes into a status of sleeping until the next check. Then it goes into a status of "checking":
And then, the event stays in a status of "checking", doing nothing, and remains in this state until it is manually canceled.
An error has been fixed where file events remained in "checking" state after logging changed and the event check ran into an error.
