Summary:

When running the CA WA ESP MAPGEN command, error message "ESP2720E UNABLE TO ALLOCATE event_name, S99 ERROR CODE X'043C', INFOCODE X'0000'" may be issued due to lack of DYNAMNBR resources.

Background:

The MAPGEN command creates a job map data set which is used as input to the JOBMAP (job activity report), and JOBTREE (job descendent tree report) commands.

MAPGEN runs in batch mode, and must be executed through the CA WA ESP started task procedure.  MAPGEN allocates and de-allocates data sets.  The number of data sets depends on the data you are processing.

The DYNAMNBR JCL parameter is normally coded in the CA ESP started task procedure, and specifies a value that is used to calculate the maximum number of data sets allocations.

Environment:

CA Workload ESP Edition r11.4

Instructions:

Increase the DYNAMNBR value in your JCL up to 1500.
